Sanmar Foundries based at Viralimalai, Trichy, in South India started its operations in 1998 by providing cost competitive foundry services to Sanmar's JV companies and partners. The steel foundry was expanded to include the transportation industry comprising rail-road and off-the-road-vehicle segments. Scaling up from captive consumption to newer segments, the state-of-the-art fully automated steel foundry today has a capacity of 30,000 tons per annum, servicing its domestic and global customers from its Investment Foundry, Sand Foundry and Machine Shop.
The foundry supplies a large variety of steel castings for diverse segments that includes Valves & Pumps, Earth Moving, Railroad, Construction & Mining etc.
